We stopped in Seattle on our way up to Vancouver for the wine festival, same as most years. This time it snowed the first night, just enough to dust the rooftops downtown without shutting anything down.

We lived here long enough that parts of the city still feel like muscle memory rather than tourism. Walking the waterfront in the snow reminded me why. It’s a hard place to stay away from for long.

The wine festival got us up to Vancouver two days later, and that trip always delivers. But Seattle is a part of the trip I never want to rush.
