On Dining Alone Back to Journal →

I love dining alone1Yes, I am an introvert. And yes, the photo below depicts two people because I forgot to get a shot when I was there alone last week.. I know that’s a polarizing topic, and not everyone feels comfortable doing it, but I’ve found that it’s a great way to explore new restaurants and cuisines without the pressure of socializing.

Whenever Kileen is out with friends, I try to find a new place as a "litmus test" to see if we should go back together. Naturally old favorites tend to get in the way of this challenge, so my fallback plan is to revisit a classic but order something different and unique from everything we’ve had before.
So far in 2025, my success rate is about 95%, so the data suggests I really need to push myself even more in the second half of the year.
