Vancouver Wine Festival Back to Journal →
Sunday, April 30, 2023
Welp, another Vancouver Wine Festival is in the books. To say the least, the event has become a bit of a tradition for us as it generally welcomes in the warmer spring temperatures.
Just a little bit about the event itself… the wine festival features over 1,000 wines available for tasting from between 100-200 wineries each year1There are also individual tasting events and special dinners available throughout the week, but we have stuck to the main event so far.. It is hosted in the Vancouver Convention Centre West, located directly on the harbour with gorgeous water views.
When we travel to Vancouver, we typically combine the trip with a few days in Seattle, which we did again this year. Frankly, Seattle will always deserve its own post - so more on that later.
That being said, this year we did a couple new things during our time in Vancouver that will absolutely become a part of all future trips.
Beach Day (In the PNW, no less.)
We’d never walked to the other side of the island and had no idea English Bay Beach existed, but given that our trip featured 70° and sunny weather for the first time, it was hard not to gravitate toward water. We were not disappointed.
Salmon Tartare at The Parlour
We always go to The Parlour in Yaletown for their excellent happy hour and this year was no different. However, we made a point to add their salmon tartare to our experience and, wow2We fully realize that salmon tartare and decadent pizza don’t often go together, but we stand by it.. There’s no way we leave this place without the tartare moving forward.
We eagerly look forward to when tickets for the 2024 event go on sale later this year.
