Fishmongers on Wheels Back to Journal →

Our fishmonger operates out of a van in Philadelphia. There I said it.
Now getting raw fish1Both blast frozen and fresh, all sushi quality. out of a van in Center City Philadelphia was hardly on my bingo card for 2024, but since we’ve started to order from Small World Seafood, we’ve really had a blast cooking a variety of dishes from places we’ve visited around the world. The quality comparison to supermarket seafood is jarring.
Not only was this scallop ceviche pretty awesome to make and eat but it was a reminder that inspiration comes from unexpected places.
Sometimes that place is a van.
