Pretty long list of companies and the social media outlets they use to promote their products and build their online reputation.
I’ve been thinking about how social media works. For example, applying game mechanics to understand participation, thinking about users vs. customers, and deconstructing ego traps in PR campaigns. This analysis makes me wonder if social media marketing matters and if so, does it scale.

This has beeen a huge help in watchin certain keywords on affiliate marketing campaigns. Although there are subscription-based, “reputation management” services such as Trackur that offer more flexibility and power, Google Alerts is fine for my needs and just got a little better.
If you’ve been feeding your ego with vanity searches and Google alerts, you may be happy to know that the once email-only digest of Google alerts is now available in RSS feed format, too. Delicious.
