Just Finished Reading Generation Blend

by Paul Legan on November 1, 2008

Generation Blend: Managing Across the Technology Age Gap takes an interesting look at generational aspects.  According to Amazon:

Generation Blend explores how generational attitudes toward technology affect issues as diverse as recruitment and retention, employee training, management decision-making, collab-oration, knowledge sharing, work/life balance, and ordinary workday activities.

Overall I thought the book wasn’t bad despite the fact that I hate the entire concept of “generational generalizations”.  I think if you take co-workers and potential employees as individuals rather than as categorically this or that, you’d see a different workplace dynamic.  That said, the book is probably a good resource for HR representatives and sourcing companies.
